Each year, Neighborhood Planning Unit B elects twelve individuals from the surrounding business community to serve a one-year term on the NPU board. These twelve individuals, along with representatives from each of thirteen designated neighborhoods within the NPU, will serve as members of a citizen advisory council, making recommendations to the Mayor and City Council on zoning, land-use, licensing, and other planning issues. NPU-B meetings are held in public the first Tuesday of each month. To find out more about the work of Neighborhood Planning Unit B, including the upcoming business representative election, visit the About NPU-B Page.

Members of the local business community are invited to participate in the upcoming election of these twelve business representatives.

In order to cast a ballot, the individual voting must:

  • Be employed by a business located within NPU-B or own commercial property within the NPU-B.
  • Reside within the City of Atlanta.
  • Be the only individual from the business casting a vote.

Your business must have been in continuous operation at the registered physical location in NPU-B for the twelve months prior to the date of the election.

When you arrive at the polling location on November 12th, be sure to have with you:

  • Proof that your business is located within NPU-B and is either registered with the City of Atlanta Department of Finance or with the Secretary of State Corporations Division. (A PO Box address for the company is not sufficient.)
  • A business card or other identification that confirms your connection with the business.
  • Proof that you reside in the City of Atlanta (such as a driver’s license with your current home address).

There are twelve positions on our board allocated to business representatives. The twelve candidates receiving the most votes will serve on the board for the 2013 calendar year.
